- Project Outline
- In February of 2021 we were contacted by the owner of Canadian Agri-Blend; a fire on the interior of the building had caused significant damage to the structure, and needed to be replaced. The foundation and concrete flatwork was for the most part still acceptable, but the pre-eng building would need to be replaced.
- Project Challenges
- Anchor bolt locations and elevations were not 100% accurate or acceptable for the new building and required some rework / replacement / adjustment of base plates in order to meet the new requirements.
- Due to the elevation of the replacement building, and the proximity to the existing building next door, reinforcing of the roof structure of the existing building was required to account for additional drift loading. Working with the engineer on the project, we were able to reinforce the roof by doubling up purlins, and bolting reinforcement to the main rafter, without interrupting operations in the building.
