Job Description
The Construction Superintendent (Grain System Division) will be part of the Industrial Grain Storage and Handling team who will provide and coordinate services for a wide range of projects throughout Western Canada. The onsite role will include overseeing all aspects of the structural steel and mechanical systems installation and commissioning. As Construction Superintendent, you will report to the Manager.

The Construction Superintendent role is diverse, and varies between each project.

Duties & Responsibilities

Construction Superintendent Role

  • Read and understand construction drawings

  • Coordinate all crew and sub contractor activities

  • Ability to work hands on with the site team to complete projects.

  • Maintain Sub-Contractors/Supplier relations;

  • Assess and coordinate all equipment needed for the project.

  • Coordinate all site activities in accordance with Flynn Bros Projects safe work policies

  • Maintain excellent relations with owner representatives and coordinate all FBP work to integrate with client needs including attending Client meetings;

  • Confer with Engineers, Architects and Owners on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and assist in the preparation of recommendations and costs estimates as required;

  • Take part in Project Team meetings;

  • Ability to perform basic internet and intranet functions; Other duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Knowledge of scheduling procedures and ability to update as require.

  • Ability to chair and control meetings;

  • Ability to visualize end products without drawings;

  • Ability to analyze risk associated to project.

  • Ability to make decisions on a variety of levels of complexity, ambiguity and risk.

  • Can define tasks and milestones to achieve objectives while ensuring optimal use of resources.

  • Can prevent, manage and resolve conflicts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Journeyman Millwright status is preferred

  • Structural Steel Erection experience is an asset

  • Experience in the construction of Industrial grain handling/storage projects.

  • Training in first aid, equipment operation

  • Valid drivers license

  • Undertake and receive required safety training in accordance with policies.
